Notes

VCS (Vauxhall Conference Shield) on 10/09/1991 vs Wycombe Wanderers

The notes used to compile this list referred to this game as the Jim Thompson Trophy. I have found various references on the web to the Jim Thompson Trophy/Shield/Charity Shield, but nothing conclusive.

However, a more likely explanation is the Vauxhall Conference Shield - the FA Trophy winners v Conference League winners from the previous season. I found the equivalent fixture list for Wycombe on this website: http://www.chairboys.ndirect.co.uk/results/91_92.htm

They use this name. This would also explain why there was no round number supplied with the notes used to compile this list. Accordingly I have used VCS as the name of this competition but I am going to clarify with the original source of this list (Steve Percy).
