FAQs
Mouse or
Keyboard?
With the Euro game the mouse is the only option, so it is
probably best to get used to the mouse for the UK game
also. But whatever you are most comfortable with is the
best option. In League Two, both are available.
What happens if you press 'Play again' before you press
'Submit'?
You will lose your points just scored. ALWAYS PRESS
SUBMIT!
Why can you play when the game is closed?
You can still play the game in "off" times, but
the points will not count.
How do I know how many points I have scored?
For the Classic game, check the High scores pages:
UK: http://classic.playforyourclub.com/pfyc_players_display.php?l=1
Europe: http://classic.playforyourclub.com/pfyc_players_display.php?l=11
Use the "Edit / Find" function on your
browser's drop-down menu to search for your initials.
Alternatively, download the PFYC stats tracker see
links page.
Unfortunately for the
League Two version, there is no automatic way to track
your total points scored.
What happens if we finish 7th in the UK Premier?
We get a UEFA credit on the historical statistics, but we
do NOT qualify for Europe.
What are the "Shouts"?
At the end of each game you can type in a brief 'shout'
before you press submit. Your shout will be shown on the
shouts page:
Classic: http://classic.playforyourclub.com/shouts1.php
League Two: http://www.playforyourclub.com/shouts
This acts as a makeshift
message board, so you can talk to others playing at the
same time. Please consider a certain
"netiquette" while shouting. No negative
comments towards other teams please.
What is a good score?
This completely depends on how much practice you have
had. At first, any submitted score is good!
After a while in the
Classic game, you will occasionally get to the bonus
levels (40,000 points and 60,000 points in the UK
Premier), where you can take a penalty for extra points.
Experienced players will reach the Classic bonus levels
with most games. Our best players have topped 200,000
points in a single Classic game, but this is very
unusual.
In League Two, any score
above 80,000 would be very good going. Top players have
hit over 130,000, but again this is quite rare.
How long does it take to reach a good total?
Again, this depends on practice. At the beginning, it
will probably take you something over an hour to score a
million points. With practice, you can get that down to
under an hour. Experienced players can score two million
points or more per hour. Total scoring rates are roughly
the same in all versions of the game.
My Operating System has been updated and now the game is
running too fast. What can I do?
The problem with the game speeding up after a system
update is browser-related: later versions of
Internet Explorer (IE) may run the game faster than
earlier versions, or may run the game faster on a new
operating system with the same version of IE. Two
types of possible solution:
(1) Download
and use an alternate browser. Possible options:
- Opera (www.opera.com)
- Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.html)
The writer has used Opera for a long time; many good
players swear by Firefox.
(2) Windows
Virtual Machine
From the wonders of Microsoft - you can
download an OLD operating system and run it within your
current operating system - a system within a
system. Generally used to run legacy systems not
compatible with brand new OS's, but also a great way of
running an older version of IE on an old OS - i.e. what
we all USED to play the game on:

In League Two, why is there a limit to the number of
shots?
This is the new structure implemented by the game's
publishers, Mousebreaker. Several format changes from the
"Classic" game were made, including this one.
There is a limit of 20 shots total for League Two (and
the other new English Leagues). For interest, this gives
a theoretical maximum score of 162,000 exactly.
