February 2002

The Bees have released Ross Darcy and the defender has
returned to Ireland. The 23-year-old has struggled to
establish himself at Underhill and has made just two
first-team appearances for Barnet boss John Still this
season. Still said: "We've let him go and he's gone
back home."
boston united
Boston have agreed a deal which should see their York
Street stadium sold in the summer. The club have issued
options to buy the site to Pilgrim Developments, who are
expected to complete the deal at the end of the season.
In the meantime, Pilgrim's management are working with
the club to provide a solution to the club's financial
crisis.
chester city
Rushden's Michael McElhatton has signed for Chester on a
month's loan. The 26-year-old midfielder follows in the
footsteps of Shaun Carey, who last week made the
permanent switch to the Deva Stadium from Brian Talbot's
side. McElhatton is coming back from serious injury, and
Talbot sees the move as beneficial to both parties.
dagenham & redbridge
Garry Hill has warned his side against complacency ahead
of their clash with rock-bottom Dover. He said:
"There are no easy games and we experienced that
earlier in the season when Leigh came and beat us when
they were in real trouble. We have got to be fully tuned
in and on our guard."
doncaster rovers
Rovers face Yeovil for the fourth time this season on
Saturday as their Umbro Trophy fourth round tie ended in
a draw, forcing a replay. The match had been postponed
three times due to the weather and when it finally went
ahead the game ended 1-1 with Paul Barnes scoring for
Doncaster.

Manager Neville Southall has doubts over the fitness of
Lee Shearer and Jake Leberl for their trip to Dagenham.
Shearer faces a late fitness test as he is suffering from
an ankle injury while midfielder Leberl is nursing a neck
injury. Southall, whose side have conceded 12 in five
games, said: "We have given away bad goals."
farnborough town
Manager Graham Westley is still without Gary Patterson
for his side's trip to Nuneaton Borough as the
29-year-old midfielder will complete a two-match ban.

same night, but Westley warned: "They will want to
put the things right after the Chester game."
forest green rovers
Defender Matt Coupe faces a three-match suspension
following his sending off in the 2-1 FA Umbro Trophy win
against Dover. Coupe, who has only started two matches
since signing from Aberystwyth Town in January, received
his marching orders after just 24 minutes for dissent.
hayes
Manager Terry Brown has praised the recent performances
of defender Anthony Charles. In his determination to aid
Hayes' plight in the Conference, Charles, who signed from
Crewe in October, played 20 minutes against Dagenham in
goal when Bertrand Bossu was sent off. "He made some
cracking saves," Brown said.

Player-coach Phil Robinson will be hoping his side can
continue their rich vein of goalscoring form when they
travel to Chester in the fifth round of FA Umbro Trophy.
The Bulls have scored eight goals in their previous two
games, including a thrilling 4-3 win over Boston United
on Monday night.
leigh rmi
Manager Steve Waywell believes his Leigh side could still
finish in the top half of the Conference table if they
put together a good run. RMI are currently seventh from
bottom, but Waywell said: "I think we've got the
ability to get into the top half if we can string some
wins together. "
margate
Margate boss Chris Kinnear could be without Simon Beard
for the visit of Braintree in the FA Umbro Trophy as he
is struggling with a foot injury. Beard has a problem
with the ball of his foot although X-rays have shown
nothing is broken and Kinnear hopes he may figure against
the Ryman League side.
morecambe
Manager Jim Harvey feels FA Umbro Trophy success is well
within his side's capabilities this season. The
Lancashire side take on Scarborough in the fifth round of
the competition and Harvey said: "I think that's got
to be our aim. We've got a good enough side to go all the
way and win it."
northwich victoria
Northwich's quest for FA Umbro Trophy glory continues
when they face Telford in the fifth round in what will be
the first of two meetings in a week. The Drill Field
side, who dumped Telford out of the FA Cup in October,
are unbeaten in three encounters with Jake King's team
side this season.

into his squad for the clash with Farnborough after his
hamstring trouble. Burr's side have not won in six games

better. We are tr ying hard in training and the players
and myself want to get things right soon."

Russell Slade's side will be determined to continue their
impressive run with victory over Morecambe at the McCain

quarter-finals of the FA Umbro Trophy. Scarborough, still
second from bottom in the Nationwide Conference, have put
together an eight-game unbeaten run.

surrounding his future by signing a new contract at Haig

League Premier Division side beat Hendon 2-1 to set up
the meeting with Celtic, which will take place on
Saturday.

the fifth round of the FA Umbro Trophy on Saturday after
they saw off Bashley 1-0 in the last round. Forest Green
beat Worksop by the same scoreline to set up the
encounter, which kicks off at 3pm at Stevenage's
Broadhall Way stadium.
telford united
Jake King's team are looking for revenge when they face
Northwich Victoria in the fifth round of the FA Umbro
Trophy. The Bucks have a score to settle with their
Cheshire hosts who ended Telford's FA Cup run in October
when Mark Devlin scored a last-gasp winner at Drill
Field.
woking
Former Crystal Palace midfielder Michael Fowler has been
released by Woking by mutual consent. Fowler has made
just seven first-team appearances, without scoring a
goal, since arriving from the Eagles in the summer of
2000. His last appearance was in the 1-0 home win over
Hereford in early November.
