Do I Not Know That
Number 3

By Alex

This Sunday gone we attended the recording of two more episodes of the top rated 'Do I Not Know That' quiz show broadcast on ITV Sport each weekday evening.

On this occasion John Errol, Dave Bown and Myself (Alex) were accompanied by a promising newcomer called Steve Percy.

The first game was won by Celtic with QPR a distant third. We were impressed by our new recruit for 'the boys' who scored a maximum 15 points in his specialist round, but a bit put off by the sudden increase of Scottish questions.

This would have been more acceptable if there had been some non-league ones as well. Despite Celtic's subsequent success in their second game, they're unlikely to have scored enough accumatively to qualify from Group I (because points mean prizes!).

So we came to the final crunch clash against Blackburn and Bradford. As a result of a strong finish in the exciting final round we won not only the match, but also the entire group. Our total of 159 points over four games is unlikely to be beaten across the twelve groups.

So we return next month for the second round. The original 108 teams are now down to 36. It's quite an achievement as we are the only non-league side in the competition, with Premiership giants like Newcastle already eliminated.

Tune in for further instalments, and visit the website for more information.

Finally, if you enjoy music quizzes, the local Primary Schools FA are staging a fund raising evening at the Queens Arms on January the 27th at 8.00 p.m.

Please get a team together at £2.00 a head to support this cause.
