| Review Wimbledon's heavy scoring - over 60 points a match so far - must make them the early favourites for the title. It is still conceivable of course that Wimbledon, Barnet and Blackpool could all finish level on points and then points difference will be the deciding factor. At the moment though, Wimbledon's win at Barnet definitely gives them the edge. At the other end, it looks as if Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic will struggle. It has been a fact of life for a few years now that the 1st Division consists of three title contenders and three teams 'fighting' to avoid the drop. Obviously, in these circumstances, matches between the bottom three sides are all-important and Burnley have already beaten the other two. |
