Past Player Career Stats

Below are the career stats for the past players from 2002/03 up to 2009/10. It shows the number of appearances (started and came on as sub), and goals scored. Players who did not appear for the First Team are not shown. They are sorted by career appearances, then career sub appearances. This is probably not the best way of displaying this information but until I think of a better way (and can be bothered to sort it out) then that's the way it is.

1. Josh Wright came back on loan from Charlton Athletic. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 04/12/2007 with 14 starts, 1 substitution and 1 goal. He made his first SA in his second spell on 12/01/2008.
2. Jason Norville had two spells for Barnet. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 09/09/2006 with 11 starts, 20 substitutions and 3 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 15/09/2007.
3. Nicky Nicolau had two spells for Barnet. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 03/05/2008 with 60 starts, 15 substitutions and 3 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 13/09/2008.
4. Ian Hendon is an ex-manager, and was assistant manager prior to that. Although he had a squad number for the 0809 season he did not made an appearance, nor warm the bench. His last appearance was as a 90th minute sub on 17/11/2007. He only started three games and came on as sub twice in the 0708 season. He last warmed the bench on 22/03/2008. His retirement from playing was officially announced on 15/07/2009. He managed the team from January 2009 to 27/04/2010.
5. Lee Harrison re-signed having previously played for Barnet. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 08/10/2002 with 262 starts, 0 substitutions and 0 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 06/08/2006. Lee became a coach but was still registered as a player. He last appeared on 18/04/2009, and last warmed the bench on 27/02/2010. He has now left the club.
6. Dean Sinclair returned on a month loan deal. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 05/05/2007 with 135 starts, 5 substitutions and 23 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 08/12/2009 and last on 28/12/2009 with a total of 137 starts, 7 substitutions and 24 goals.
7. Yannick Bolasie returned on a second loan deal after a loan spell in the 08/09 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 25/04/2009 with 17 starts, 3 substitutions and 3 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 08/08/2009 and last on 28/12/2009 with a total of 37 starts, 11 substitutions and 5 goals.
8. Matt Lockwood had two loans spells with the club. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 04/04/2009 with 12 starts, 0 substitutions and 0 goals. He made his his first SA in his second spell on 23/01/2010 and last on 24/04/2010 with 31 starts, 0 substitutions and 2 goals.
9. Paul Furlong returned after a loan spell in the 08/09 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 18/04/2009 with 21 starts, 0 substitutions and 9 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 08/08/2009.
10. Craig Dobson signed a short term deal with the club after a trial period in the 0405 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 28/09/2004 with 1 start, 3 substitutions and 0 goals. He made his only SA in his second spell on 02/11/2010.
11. Jake Cole signed for the club after a loan spell in the 08/09 season. His last senior appearance from his first spell was on 13/04/2009 with 10 starts, 0 substitutions and 0 goals. He made his first SA in his second spell on 08/08/2009.

2010/11
15 May 2010: Options have been extended with some players and offers made to others at the end of their contracts. The article did not specify which players.
25 May 2010: Barnet's full retained list will be announced when a new manager is appointed.
26 May 2010: Five candidates were interviewed [for the manager's post] last week and the name ... will be ... announced ... hopefully in the next few days.
28 May 2010: The new manager will review the whole retained list, which had to be completed earlier this month.
01 Jun 2010: Mark Stimson is the new manager ... [with] Scott Barrett, his assistant during his time at Gillingham ... Grays Athletic and Stevenage Borough. One of his first tasks ... will be to study the club's retained list to [see if] he wants to keep any player previously listed as 'released'.

01 Jan 2011: Mark Stimson's contract has been terminated with immidiate effect. Paul Fairclough has been left temporarily in charge of the team.
06 Jan 2011: TK: "Some players will be leaving ... and new players will be brought in. Paul Fairclough [is] Temporary Manager and ... will be assisted by ... Michael Stone."
25 Jan 2011: Paul Fairclough: "We've come very, very close to making two signings, we were chasing two players but nothing quite materialised, but we do have a Brazilian player with us at the moment that we are very interested in and he is able to play in this country."
28 Jan 2011: PF: The club is still eyeing up a few possible signings. We concluded that [some Brazilian trialists] weren't going to give us anything ... we've [not] already got. We're looking for an attacking midfielder.

12 Apr 2011: Grazioli named as manager, Anwar Uddin is assistant, Carroll unable to sign as registration at previous club not cancelled in time, but still involved.
17 Apr 2011: Lawrie Sanchez has ... agreed a deal for the final four games of the season with a role as football consultant.
18 Apr 2011: Roy Carroll no longer training with the Bees.

Names

I use the names as they appear on the Barnet programmes. There are some inconsistencies in the names that the players use on their shirts and what appears on other sites and papers. These include

• Tom Coulton is usually spelt Coulson on the BBC (and presumably anything else that comes via the Press Association).
• Andrew Hodges was spelt Andrew Hodge on another article on the official site the same day as this spelling was used later!
• Emeka Nwachukwu was spelt Emeka Mwechukwu on another article on the official site the same day as this spelling was used later!
• Lee Roache is sometimes spelt Roach. Indeed there was some confusion in the club's own programme at one point. But this has been confirmed as the correct spelling.
• Jude Stirling is usually spelt Sterling on the BBC (and presumably anything else that comes via the Press Association).
• Joseph Tabiri was originally announced as Joseph Owusu Tabiri at the start of the 2007/08 season.
• Frazer Toms is often spelt Fraser. I believe this is a result of over zealous anti-Americanism! (Although if you look up 'organise' in the OED, you may be surprised - but that's an entirely different subject...)
• Ismail Yakubu is usually spelt Yakabu in other reports. Although I probably have used this spelling on this site elsewhere.

If anybody is certain of the spelling that should be used then please feel free to contact me on info@bfcsa.co.uk. Please mention your reason for being certain. Of course, a player should be able to use whatever spelling and name they damn well please, so if you're a player reading this (do they?) then please also feel free to contact me.

Other Information

Eventually we hope to have all the games played since the 1965-66 season on this site. Both by alphabetical order and by date order. This will enable you to see what game players started/finished with. I could include this information here but I think it may make it too cluttered.

This won't be this side of Christmas however! In the meantime if you want to know any more information then please contact us. Of course, if I can work out how to do databases like they have on confguide.com then the sky is the limit!

At some point I would like to

• do a similar table for all (?!) Barnet players back to 1965-66
• include a column showing which club an ex player went to, or other reason for leaving (eg retired from playing game).
