| Match Preview | |||
Barnet come from the highest possible point after they took a fantastic victory at Broadhall Way on Saturday. The 850 odd supporters who travelled made a fantastic row and went absolutely mental for the goals. I'm pretty sure that this atmosphere can be repeated in this clash. I would imagine that Martin Allen will stick with the same side that beat Boro' last week. Liam Hatch is still a few months away from a full recovery after the injury he suffered against Arsenal in Pre-Season. Grazioli will hungry to add to his tally and Beadle/Strevens will also want get onto the scoresheet when possible. The air of confidence around Underhill is certainly being fulfilled currently with some excellent football being played. With one defeat in eight, fifth place and top goalscorer in the league, the place is certainly buzzing (excuse the pun) on matchdays. I would hope that a large following from Aldershot will be combined with a large home support to make it a strong attendance - our biggest for a while I should hope. It is such a contrast from last season and it's fantastic to see eleven men in Barnet shirts who are playing for the club - not themselves. This week we come up with some tough new opposition in Aldershot who have also made a good start to the 2003/2004 season. They currently have 16 points, one more than ourselves and have scored an excellent 19 although 15 have gone in at the other end. The man to watch would be Roscoe D'Sane formerly of next door neighbours Woking who banged in 18 goals last season in the Ryman and has already got four to his name in his seven appearances. The crowd favourite has also made many appearances along ex-Bee Junior Agogo for the England National XI. The Shots squad looks very strong on paper and at the moment have performed very well. A number of them have good Conference experience including John Challinor and Ray Warburton who have both won the Conference with Rushden and Boston respectively. A tough game and a big attendance is in store. |

| Aldershot strolled to Ryman
League victory and have certainly made an excellent start
to life in the Conference. They didn't over impress in
front of the Sky Cameras against Accrington Stanley but
the results speak for themselves. Any Aldershot fan who
has been to all eight of their games will have seen a
staggering 34 goals for and against and that includes two
4-3's (home to Northwich and away to Hereford) and a 5-2
at Forest Green. Personally I didn't believe that Aldershot would really cut it at this level and would be languishing in mid-table in their first season. So far - I'm completely wrong, I'm not so good at this prediction lark. Of the eight games they've played they have faced six teams in the top ten which further reinforces their credentials as a play-off pushing side. Aldershot went out of
business in April 1992 and the new Aldershot Town have
blitzed their way through the lower leagues and are just
one division away from where they began. To do that in
eleven years is something else and something everyone at
Aldershot should be proud of. I have made some rather
unfair comments at Aldershot and their fans before and
they are completely unjustified. I understand that
99% of Aldershot FANS are there for football and it is a
tiny minority who occasionally spoil it. I was at St.
Albans in December and there was not a hint of trouble
from the 700 Aldershot fans who had travelled. All I can
say about them is that they were a passionate bunch of
fans - the kind we welcome in the Conference. |

| BFCSA Prediction | ||
| The first 2000+ attendance since
Stevenage on Boxing Day 2001 is almost certain for this
top of the table clash. If Barnet can recreate the form
from last week (second half) it should be to much for the
Hampshire outfit. Barnet
