Programme Notes Farnborough, 20 December 2003 Good afternon and welcome to the BFCSA page. Firstly I'd like to give a warm welcome to today's visitors Farnborough and hope you enjoy your stay here at Underhill. Secondly I'd like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas, not only from myself but also from all the BFCSA committee. Have a good New Years Eve and I'll see you here bright eyed for the Woking game the morning after! THE SEASON SO FAR Well, what can I say? We're sitting in third place in the league after playing just over half our fixtures. In fact after 21 games we had 40 points, so even with my bad maths a second half to the season the same as the first will give us 80 points. That's easily enough to make the play-offs and with another three collected at Telford last time out we're on course for an exciting run in. I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Martin Allen and everyone else concerned for the most exciting season we've had in a long time. It's not just the football, every week another strange story evolves from the Martin Allen camp, keeping the name of Barnet in the headlines. STEVE PERCY PLAYS AT LAST! Astonishing as that may seem, this is one example of how Barnet have kept themselves in the limelight. I'm sure Steve needs no introduction to the Barnet faithful, but for anyone else Steve is probably Barnet's number one fan. He has only missed one first team game in the last 30 years! After winning a raffle to be a squad member Steve got a run-out in the last 5 minutes of the Herts Senior Cup match against Ware. Unfortunately Steve was fouled after his first touch, which then sparked a bit of 'handbags'. He lived to tell the tale and told me 24 hours later that it was an 'unreal sensation' to play for the Bees and was very impressed with Martin Allen and Adrian Whitbread's attitude in the changing room. A full version of the interview can be found under this year's articles section on www.bfcsa.net. SANTA HATS AT YEOVIL Although the result might not have been what we'd been hoping for it was another classic day out for the Barnet fans. A very big thank you goes out to 'Buster' who purchased loads of Santa hats and sold nearly 200 on the terrace before the game - raising £50.00 for the KBA. It was an awesome sight seeing a sea of red hats, answering Martin Allen's call for a red army. Below is a photo of 'Buster' selling a hat to lucky punter 'Dazza'...
