Programme Notes Gravesend & Northfleet, 11 November 2003 Good evening and welcome to the BFCSA page. MEMBERSHIP So far this season the Association has 325 members. This is about the same as this time last season but it would be great to get past last seasons final total of 359. A quick reminder of the benefits of belonging to the association are that it entitles you to travel on the coach to away games (membership is available on the day) and also members are insured at any football match played under FA rules. Another good reason to join is to raise funds. I've mentioned in previous programmes how the association has donated money to Barnet FC. In the Exeter programme there is a photo of the new lawnmower the association contributed to. We paid £1200.00, half the price and I think you'll agree the pitch is looking in great shape again. Another donation was £300.00 sponsoring Liam Hatch. Part of the sponsorship is that the sponsor has two tickets for the main stand and a photo taken with the player. Also at the end of the season you get the players away shirt. The committee has agreed that we will raffle these so look out for details in a forthcoming programme and also on www.bfcsa.net. As in past seasons the
association has given the goalkeepers money to buy gloves
and other items. So far this term £271.00 has been spent
on these and I think you'll agree it's worth it. John Adkins is the membership secretary and he can be found selling programmes by the Westcombe Drive turnstiles before home games. Donations are also gratefully accepted! SUPPORTERS FOOTBALL MATCH A game between Barnet supporters and Forest Green Rovers supporters is being arranged. Robert Whipple has rounded up a team and it will take place on one of the pitches behind Underhill. The kick-off time hasn't been finalised yet but it will be in the morning. See www.bfcsa.net for further details. A return match is planned for the away fixture and it is hoped this will be an annual event (if we're both in same league of course!!). QUIZ TEAM The two quiz teams have now both started this years campaign. The home matches are being played at the East Barnet United Services Club, East Barnet Road, New Barnet (roughly opposite Sainsbury's). Spectators are welcome if you want to come along. First Team Result Barnet 69 Sheffield Wednesday 38 Team: Nick Sandamas, Fred Stiff, Peter Croft, David Bown, Murray Craig, Steve Percy. Man of the Match: Murray Craig On the 9th November 2003 the first team played AFC Wimbledon at the East Barnet United Services Club. The result was too late for inclusion in tonight's programme.
