Programme Notes Accrington Stanley, 06 September 2003 Good afternoon and welcome to the BFCSA page. I'd like to welcome everyone connected with Accrington Stanley to Underhill for what promises to be an exciting and probably robust game of football. I read in the non-league paper that Stanley have had three players sent-off and thirteen bookings already, whilst the Bees weigh in with fifteen yellows. It could get a bit lively out there today, so don't be surprised to see someone take an early bath! Currently thirteenth in the league with seven points they come to the 'hill without a win on their travels, only gaining one point away with the 1-1 draw at Tamworth last week. With the Bees' defence only conceding two goals at home so far I think they'll have a tough battle on their hands and will have to wait until another day for their first three away points. After last Saturday's superb demolition of Halifax 4-1 the Mighty Bees are gaining momentum but unfortunately it looks like the goal-machine Giuliano Grazioli won't be with us today after limping off in that match. Let's hope the others will now get a chance to score and get the Bees into the top five. Bring it on! AWAY WE GO - TO STEVENAGE Next week we're off to Stevenage, which is a game I always enjoy. The last two years have produced excellent matches, with Ben Strevens scoring with a magnificent over-head kick in last years 2-1 win. We've nearly filled the stand behind the goal both times and as they were both evening kick-offs I think we can fill it on a Saturday afternoon. Martin Allen has already said what a difference the fans make, even running across the pitch at Burton to join in the celebrations! So get yourself along to Broadhall Way one way or another. The coach is only a fiver or you can follow one of Reckless's magnificent travel directions on another page in this programme. NON-LEAGUE CLUB DIRECTORY It's that time off year again when the splendid Non-League Directory is published. This year it has 1088 pages and over 600 photos covering all of last seasons Non-League results, including FA Cup, Trophy, Vase etc. Also each Conference club has six pages of information about it, including address, players, honours, club records etc. There's too much to mention here but I can thoroughly recommend it, especially if you like facts and figures. The normal retail price is £19.95 but with special rates for bulk purchases the BFCSA can obtain them for a lot less. If we order over 30 it goes down to £10.00, almost HALF PRICE. Last year we got 60, so I'm confident we can do the same this year. HOW TO ORDER
More details can be found on www.bfcsa.net They are available from mid-September, so can we have your orders as soon as possible please? Due to the high cost of posting they will have to be collected from the kiosk when they come in. |
