JUNIOR Agogo's 20th goal of the season was enough to secure Barnet the point they required to qualify for next season's LDV Trophy when they travelled to Northwich for their final Conference game of the season on Saturday.

Agogo, whose future with the Bees has been the subject of much speculation over the past week, struck after 66 minutes after a shot by Mark Gower was deflected into his path.

Barnet held the lead for 13 minutes until Northwich substitute Richard Norris stooped low to head in a Steve Garvey cross to earn the home side a share of the spoils.

The goals came after a drab first half in which both sides looked as though they had already packed their bags and were dreaming of sunning themselves on some faraway beach.

Teenage goalkeepers, Barnet's Ricky Millard, and Ben Connett, of Northwich, were seldom troubled in the opening 45 minutes, but they found themselves with much more to do after the break.

Second Half

Gower struck a Northwich post and then forced the home keeper into a fine save, while, with the Bees leading 1-0, Agogo also saw his effort strike the woodwork.

Not that it was by any means all Barnet with Johnny Allan missing an easy chance at the far post as his side went in search of an equaliser and then, with the score locked at 1-1, the same played saw his powerful header crash against the angle of post and bar with Millard beaten.

In the end, a draw was probably a fair result on a day on which Barnet's travelling support, who made up a good section of a disappointing crowd, made the long journey home pondering just how many of the team on duty at Northwich will still be wearing the black and amber come next August.
