AFTER a two-week lay-off, Barnet found themselves a goal down after 41 seconds of this Boxing Day clash at a soggy Underhill.

But the Bees, who paraded loan signing Ian Hendon from Sheffield Wednesday, bounced back in dramatic fashion to clinch the points with a Junior Agogo goal deep in stoppage time.

Barnet kicked off into the wind, but lost possession on the half-way line when a debatable tackle from behind on Wayne Purser saw the ball collected by Daggers' Danny Shipp, who crossed into the Bees' area for Paul Terry to stroke the ball home left-footed.

Dagenham had the better of the opening exchanges when Terry, who was causing Barnet no end of trouble, drilled a shot just past the Bees' left-hand post.

It took Barnet 15 minutes before they had a sniff of a chance with an Agogo volley going well over.

Barnet equalised on 30 minutes when a pinpoint Mark Gower cross was headed home by the diving Greg Heald.

Former West Ham star Steve Potts was booked for pulling down the livewire Agogo on route to goal while at the other end Hendon suffered a similar fate for a foul on Daggers' Gary Fletcher.

Second Half

The second half started with Barnet having much of the possession, but without troubling former Welsh international Tony Roberts in the Daggers' goal.

In the 75th minute Shipp was fortunate to escape with just a yellow card after he kicked Lee Pluck in the Bees' penalty.

Three minutes later, Shipp again overstepped the mark when he deliberately kicked the ball away after Vickers had fouled Agogo. Shipp did not wait for the second yellow card to be raised, but walked straight down the tunnel.

Barnet came close to taking the lead when Purser saw his header parried on the line by Robert, who gathered at the second attempt.

The Bees cranked up the pressure with Agogo going close and Yakabu having an effort blocked.

The winner came three minutes into stoppage time when Hendon's sublime long ball found Agogo, who turned and coolly beat Roberts to send the Barnet faithful dancing with delight.

It was Christmas fare for the Boxing crowd of 1,727, the bulk of whom went home delighted to their cold turkey.
