BARNET
Barnet have six major
injury doubts ahead of the visit of Chester, although
they are hopeful of welcoming back captain Greg Heald
after a groin problem. Wayne Purser has little or no
chance of playing but Frazer Toms, Stuart Niven, Danny
Brown, John Doolan and Lee Flynn are all receiving
round-the-clock treatment.
BURTON ALBION
Burton boss Nigel Clough
has reported a clean bill of health as his side look to
continue their excellent start to the season at Leigh
RMI. The UniBond Premier League champions have adapted
well to Conference football this season and went fourth
in the table after Tuesday's 3-1 win at Northwich.
CHESTER
Chester manager Mark
Wright has reported a clean bill of health after Monday's
hard-fought victory over Telford and will take a strong
squad to Barnet. Wright said: "Only Phil Bolland is
unavailable for selection and he will be out for another
two weeks. Otherwise everyone else is fine."
DAG & RED
Dagenham & Redbridge
go into the clash at Scarborough still in the midst of an
injury crisis with five first-teamers unavailable to
manager Garry Hill. Lee Matthews, Mark Janney, Tim Cole,
Mark Smith and Mark Rooney are still on the sidelines.
There are one or two other knocks that are also giving
cause for concern.
DONCASTER
Doncaster have doubts
over Andy Watson and Robert Gill as manager Dave Penney
looks to field a stronglooking side at Telford. Watson
missed the victory at Leigh RMI after sustaining an
injury on the opening day of the season. Gill is also a
doubt but is hopeful of making a welcome return.
FARNBOROUGH
Farnborough manager
Graham Westley could name an unchanged line-up for the
home clash with Halifax Town. Westley has reported no
fresh injury doubts and could even have the luxury of
welcoming back Leroy Griffiths and Danny Carroll to the
reckoning after injury. Steve Watson again misses out
through suspension.
FOREST GREEN
Forest Green manager
Nigel Spink has reported "a couple of minor
knocks" but an otherwise clean bill of health ahead
of the visit of Southport. Rovers are looking to pick up
their first points of the season after two disappointing
defeats to kick off the campaign.
GRAVESEND
Gravesend and Northfleet
manager Andy Ford is sweating on the fitness of six
first-team players ahead of the home clash with Hereford
United. Francis Duku, Danny Lye, Justin Skinner, Steve
McKimm, Paul Sturgess and Craig Wilkins are battling to
be fit. Ford said: "They are all struggling at the
moment."
HALIFAX
Halifax boss Chris
Wilder has reported a clean bill of health and is hoping
to name an unchanged side for the trip to Farnborough.
After seeing his side win at Telford and then lose at
Morecambe, Wilder said: "I've been delighted with
the players' attitudes. I'm happy with the way it's
going."
HEREFORD
Hereford manager Graham
Turner has reported a clean bill of health and has
selection problems of the pleasant variety ahead of the
trip to Gravesend. Striker John Grant is suspended but
otherwise Turner, whose side have started the season with
two successive wins, has a strong pool of players to
choose from.
KETTERING
Kettering manager Carl
Shutt has the luxury of selecting from a full-strength
squad against Woking. Shutt has seen his side draw their
opening two matches against Chester and Margate and his
side has yet to score a goal after a goalless draw
against the former and an own goal gift against the
latter.
LEIGH RMI
Leigh boss Steve Waywell
is optimistic Tony Ellis can shake off a swollen knee in
time to face Burton Albion. Waywell hopes the prescribed
rest has done Ellis the world of good and will enable him
to participate. Gerry Harrison (head) is also aiming to
make the clash.
MARGATE
Margate manager Craig
Kinnear is resigning himself to being without Jake Leberl
(back) for the trip to Northwich. But captain Graham
Porter and Mark Munday are back in contention after
serving one-match suspensions, bur Lee Shearer is
suspended. Darren Freeman, Phil Collins and Simon Beard
are out injured.
MORECAMBE
Morecambe manager Jim
Harvey hopes to name the same team that beat Halifax 2-0
for the visit of Yeovil. A brace from Lee Elam took the
Shrimps up to fifth and preserved their unbeaten record.
The Shrimps will be looking to keep that run going
against a Yeovil side who have yet to win.
NORTHWICH
Northwich manager Jimmy
Quinn welcomes Denny Ingram back to the fold for the
visit of Margate, but admits he is still hoping to bring
in a striker as soon as possible. Ingram returns after a
two-game suspension although Val Owen still has one more
match to serve on his three-game ban.
NUNEATON
Nuneaton manager Steve
Burr has reported a clean bill of health ahead of the
visit of Stevenage. Burr says he will only be able to
finalise his side after the final training session of the
week, but says early indications are he will have the
luxury of being able to select from a fully-fit squad.
SCARBOROUGH
Scarborough manager
Russell Slade is hoping the influential Jason Blunt will
be fit enough to face Dagenham after recovering from
injury. Blunt played 45 minutes for the reserves in their
narrow defeat at Hull on Wednesday and has put himself in
contention for the visit of the Daggers.
SOUTHPORT
Southport manager Phil
Wilson is sweating on the fitness of Steve Soley and John
Robertson ahead of the trip to Forest Green Rovers. Soley
has an ankle problem while Robertson has an infection in
his leg. Wilson said: "Other than Soley and
Robertson we are okay as far as injuries go."
STEVENAGE
Stevenage manager Wayne
Turner has reported a near-clean bill of health for the
trip to Nuneaton and says only Martin Williams is
struggling for fitness. Williams is being dogged by a
hamstring injury although Turner will give him until the
last possible moment before making a decision on his
availability.
TELFORD
Telford have taken
former Chester striker Dave Brown on a month's trial in
an attempt to end the club's goal drought ahead of the
visit of Doncaster. Manager Jake King confirmed Brown
will definitely be involved at some stage and also
reported a clean bill of health ahead of the big game.
WOKING
Woking manager Geoff
Chapple is hoping to name an unchanged team for the third
week in succession for the trip to Kettering. Having seen
his side record four points from a possible six so far,
Chapple feels there is no need to tinker with a
reasonably successful formula.
YEOVIL
Kim Grant's knee injury
is giving the most cause for concern for Yeovil manager
Gary Johnson as he finalises his side to face Morecambe.
Town travel to Christie Park looking to recover from the
disappointment of losing their proud 10-month unbeaten
away run in the league which they surrendered at Barnet
on Tuesday.
