Programme Notes Kettering Town, 12 April 2003 Good afternoon and welcome to the BFCSA page. PLAYER OF THE YEAR If you didn't receive a player of the year voting slip on your way into the ground either today or at the Hereford match you can get one from a committee member, several of which can be found in front of the tea hut on the east terrace. They must be handed in today so the presentation can be made in the Durham Suite after the Woking game. You can give them to a committee member or hand them in at the tannoy room in front of the stand. Thanks. MEET THE COMMITTEE
I was an occasional visitor before the 1991 season and a regular there after. I was a founder member of the Curry Club, which has added an extra dimension of pleasure to being a Barnet supporter - not least being the food. I also served on the committee of the official supporters association as social secretary, an interesting time despite the work and hassle involved. When it was decided to merge the two supporters' associations I was invited to carry on as social secretary, a position I gladly accepted, so I can't have done too bad a job! As we move into the coming season, the BFCSA are intending to put on more social events so next season watch this space. I also serve on the KBA committee, no particular position just doing the same as the other members, anything that is necessary to put forward the clubs case for a chance of a secure long term future. It will be a busy summer for us - highlighting the plight of our club to the wider community but it is also good fun and very worthwhile! So if you're free over the summer and want to help out give us a call. Being originally from Kentish Town, my second team is Arsenal (I can hear the boo's already) but with the current links between both clubs it seems I can have my cake and eat it. When I am not on the east terrace, or travelling on the away bus, setting up a KBA stall at a local fair or getting petitions signed I go fishing, as I am also a very keen Carp angler. |
